There has been a lot to learn in the Enterprise Architecture class. I have really enjoyed my readings, and have a lot to take back not only to my classroom, but to my future office as an administrator. Here are the top 3 discoveries that I have made:
- Visualizing a solution to our problems- It has always been easy to label problems, and to want more from the leadership team in place at your school. With this course, I can finally see how to I might try to organize a school, find gaps in our planning, and to address problems on a large scale.
- Long term solutions- Enterprise Architecture is not built to help us fix our short term problems. One of the most helpful aspects of this course has been to analyze the current state of the school, and compare that with the desired future state of the school It has helped me to see what direction the school wants to head, and to start thinking about what type of leadership is needed to meet those goals.
- Unifying all Departments- The decision making of all departments needs to be funneled through a leadership team in EA. This means that there are decision makers that take into account what will help the school the most, and make sure that each and every department is doing what will help that goal, and not just working for what is best for their department.
